Title A Biostatistician's Perspective: Impact in Clinical/ Translational Studies
Speaker Frank Harrell, PhD
Presentation-Attached Harrell - ACTS - April 11, 2014
Abstract Statistics is not a toolbox, but a way of thinking. In clinical and translational research, and indeed in all fields of research, things are not always as they seem. Biostatisticians often function as team detectives to find alternative explanations for findings or to demonstrate that the apparent explanation has no likely substitute. It is better to have a biostatistician as your detective rather than a referee or study section.
